Kenneth Pechter, Ph.D. Director, International Strategy and Development
Kenneth Pechter is the founder and principal of KP Bosatsu, where he helps clients capitalize on international business opportunities. To his
engagements he brings an extensive international background and both public and private sector experience, along with insight into innovation strategy cultivated over years of in-depth analysis
of knowledge creation and business development. His private sector engagements focus on entertainment, high tech and media enterprises.
Prior to founding KP Bosatsu, Kenneth Pechter
was on the faculty of the University of Tokyo for more than eight years, most recently as associate professor of innovation management & policy at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of
Interdisciplinary Information Studies (2000-2003). At the University of Tokyo his research interests centered on the role of networks in innovation, the
process of leveraging ideas into new products and markets.
Kenneth currently holds an adjunct appointment as associate professor at Japan's leading center for
the convergence of media and education, the National Institute of Multimedia Education. He is an advisory board member of U.S.-based United Planet, a nonprofit organization whose mission is
to promote cross-cultural understanding and friendship through a diverse range of forward-looking initiatives.
Until 2003, Kenneth was host of a nationally
broadcast television program on the cross-cultural challenges faced by today's transnational business, Business World in English (NHK network). He has been widely published, and has
been invited to give major lectures in over ten countries. He has worked as an engineer in the United States, and for the Optisk Laboratorium, a national laboratory in Denmark specializing in
optics technologies.
